'The Voice' Runner-Up Dia Frampton Premieres Her First Music Video - Watch It Here!
by Andy NeuenschwanderWho says you have to win "The Voice" in order to sell records? If Adam Lambert of "American Idol" is any indication, it's not necessarily winning the competition that guarantees your success... it's building a strong fan base while you're in it.
Dia Frampton did just that in the premiere season of "The Voice." The singer gained fans as the competition went on, making a late surge to almost steal the whole thing from Javier Colon, who was a favorite to win from the beginning. The competition ended in a close vote that saw Dia taking second place.
But that won't stop her from getting her own record deal, releasing her own album, and touring with her mentor Blake Shelton. In fact, Frampton's first album post-"The Voice," titled "Red," is due out on December 6th.
To get some interest up for the album, Frampton has premiered her first music video (if you don't count her Youtube videos from before "The Voice," that is), for the single "The Broken Ones." The song has a nice melody and Frampton's voice is, as always, enchanting, though the lyrics are a little cumbersome at times.
As for the video itself, it's an odd one: the director David McClister describes it as "'Where the Wild Things Are' meets 'Lord of the Flies' meets Peter Pan's the Lost Boys." Yeah, wrap your head around that one.
